PRODUCTS

What does the Trade Shades Warranty cover?

All Trade Shades products come with a 30 day period from delivery where should any issues with the product(s) arise, you will be eligible for a full refund upon inspection of the item once returned to us. As per the return policy, all returns postage is not eligible for refund and the product(s) will remain your responsibility until they reach our possession. For this reason we recommend using a tracked postage option and retaining the postage receipt.

What tasks can they be used for?

Trade Shades are unisex safety spectacles used for protecting the eyes from day-to-day hazards. Being built from an all Polycarbonate frame and lenses, they are made of one of the strongest compounds for such a product therefore are a great general pair of safety glasses. They are not to be used to replace products such as safety goggles, visors or other task specific safety equipment, the wearer will always follow manufacturers instructions when performing tasks posing risks to their health and safety.

Are they safe?

Trade Shades have been tested to the latest standard EN ISO 16321-1. This ensures they have been designed to pass the latest stringent requirements for safety regulations in the UK and EU. The CE and UKCA marks printed on the products signifies the respect of the essential requirements of the PPE European Regulation 2016/425 and PPE Regulation 2016/425 as amended to apply in GB and have been shown to comply with this Regulation through the European Standard EN ISO 16321‑1:2022.

Are they safe for sensitive skin?

The frame, when in contact with the skin may cause allergic reaction to susceptible individuals, if this is the case, doctors advice should be consulted immediately and cease using the safety spectacles.

What are they made from?

An all Polycarbonate frame and lense combination provides superior strength to other materials and are 100% shatterproof. The advantages of Polycarbonate include 99% UVA/B protection, they are lightweight and impact resistant as well as versatile with many customisations available. 

How are Trade Shades packaged?

Your Trade Shades will arrive in a drawstring cloth bag (which we recommend storing the glasses in at all times they are unused). From here they are inside our branded pull-out draw box which includes user instructions for usage and information of protection warranted.

Prescription Lenses

We don't currently offer prescription lenses, we are working on it! However, please email us at support@trade-shades.com and we will endeavour to fulfil your request and will add you to our list to let you know as soon as we can do prescription lenses.

Lens Options

All of our lenses are made from Polycarbonate, the most scratch resistant material available. Whilst they are scratch resistant/anti-scratch - they are not scratch proof!

All lenses protect against 99.9% of UV400 UVA & UVB. Whilst the harmful sun rays are blocked, depending on the tint of lens, visible light will still be able to damage your eyes. Therefore, we highly recommend the clear lenses for indoor use. For outdoor use; the tinted lenses and the polarised lenses for bright sunny days to get maximum protection.

ORDERS

How do I track my order?

As soon as your order has been despatched from our warehouses, you will be notified via email and/or SMS. This will provide you with your courier tracking link. It may take up to 1-3 days for the courier to update it's tracking with relative information on the whereabouts of your order not including weekends or holidays.

If you haven't received your tracking number after 48 hours from purchase, please contact our support team at support@trade-shades.com

Can I change the order once an order is placed?

Each case will be different so if you need to change or cancel your order, please contact support@trade-shades.com immediately after purchase during the hours of 09:00 - 17:00 (GMT) before we have begun the order despatch process. Unfortunately, once your order has been processed by our warehouse, we are unable to make any changes or cancellations. Most orders are shipped within 12 hours. In the case that we're unable to amend your order, we ask that you please wait until the order arrives and follow the normal return policy procedure. 

I haven’t received a confirmation email and I placed my order over 24 hours ago, what shall I do?

These sometimes go into the spam/junk folders so please check this first and if you still do not have it, please submit an enquiry to our team at support@trade-shades.com, who will be able to help locate your tracking details.

SHIPPING

United Kingdom & Northern Ireland

UK orders are shipped directly from our UK warehouse within 24-48 hours of the order being placed. The estimated shipping time begins from the day your order has been despatched.

Any orders received on weekdays before 12pm GMT will be shipped out the same day and orders placed over the weekend will be shipped out on Monday.

Europe

Orders made from our select European Countries are despatched from our UK warehouse. All orders received on weekdays before 12pm CET will be shipped out the same day and orders placed over the weekend will be shipped out on Monday. For accurate shipping pricing please enter your shipping address at checkout. Prices vary from £9.99 to £20 depending on if expedited delivery is required.

Rest of the world

Anywhere outside of the aforementioned countries within the UK & Europe we cannot currently ship to and orders won’t be placed. We apologies for this but as the products are a safety product they need to pass the regulations stated in the destination country and for now UK & Europe are the only destinations permissible.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to the United Kingdom, including England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland and Europe. Any destinations outside of these will for now, be rejected. Please bare in mind that international orders will be subject to courier delays and may take slightly longer to reach their destination.

Customs Charges

You may be charged import duties or tax when the parcel reaches the destination country. These charges vary and must be paid for by the recipient of the parcel. Trade Shades holds not liability to pay customs charges, taxes or duties. Customs policies vary widely from country to country therefore it might be a good idea to contact your local customs office for current charges before you order, so you are not surprised by charges you were not expecting.

Can you ship to a PO box?

No, we cannot accept deliveries to PO Box as we send our parcels via tracked delivery they wont fit into a PO Box. We do apologies for any inconvenience which may arise from this but we hope you understand.

RETURNS

What is your returns period?

You have 14 days to return any unwanted items from the day of delivery. We inspect all items upon return. To receive a full refund on any eligible items, the items must be returned to us unworn/unused* and in the condition you received them with their original packaging intact. If the items are returned damaged, worn or in an unsuitable condition, we won't be able to give you a refund. 

*Of course, this doesn’t mean you cannot try them on, we simply don’t want the glasses to be worn out and used for a period and then returned.

Do you offer free returns labels?

We do not at this stage offer free return labels. Any returned items will remain your responsibility until they arrive back at our warehouse. Please make sure you obtain proof of postage from your chosen courier to ensure your return is tracked and can be located.

When will I receive my refund?

Depending on your initial payment option and how long your chosen courier takes to get the items back to our warehouse and being processed by us. Refunds will be processed back to your original payment method used. You will be notified via email once your return has been processed and please note that it can take up to 14 days for your refund to reach back to your original payment method, however, most often it is much sooner.

How do I start a return? 

We take immense pride in offering our Trade Shades protective eyewear, and we genuinely believe that upon receiving your order, you'll be pleasantly surprised by how well it exceeds your expectations. If, for any reason, you decide to return your purchase, we want you to know that we are here to support you and will gladly facilitate an exchange or refund for any item. Please be assured that we value the condition of our products, and returned items must be in a 100% resalable condition.In the unfortunate event that your Trade Shades protective eyewear experiences damage during transit, please reach out to us via email. We genuinely care about your satisfaction, and we'll work to promptly replace any damaged items following a careful assessment.

To initiate a return, please complete the following steps:

Contact us at returns@trade-shades.com, in the subject line please enter your order number, and in the rest of the email please state your reason for return and if theres anything else we can help you with. 

We kindly request that all returns preserve their original condition, including all original paperwork and the receipt. Unfortunately, we cannot accept damaged or worn products for return, and we want to be transparent that shipping costs will not be refunded. Your satisfaction is our priority, and we appreciate your understanding.

Please always obtain proof of postage and it is our recommendation to return the products via tracked option as they remain your responsibility until they reach our warehouse. 

If your order has been lost in transit without sufficient proof of postage, we won’t be able to process your return request. However, if you’re able to provide a valid postage receipt or tracking number for your return, we’ll honour your return with store credit. 

Please note that any postage costs are non-refundable.

What is the status of my return?

Your return request will be processed within 3-5 working days from the date which your return was receive by our warehouse. We will inform you via email when we have received your return and will email you any updates. 

Why isn’t there a returns form with my order?

Being conscious of the impact on the environment of unnecessary processes we took the decision to remove paper from our returns process and make it entirely digital. Please email returns@trade-shades following the above returns process to initiate.

How long is my return going to take?

As soon as we have received your return back at our warehouse, we will endeavour to complete the return process within 3-5 working days. We will notify you via email of any information.

How long does it take for my refund to be processed?

We aim to process all refunds within 14 working days from the date of receipt of your return at our warehouse. We will email you an confirmation once we have sent your refund. 

Please note, it can take (depending on your bank) a further 5 working days to see the funds clear in your account. Please contact your bank directly if after 5 working days have passed and the funds have not been received by you.

Do I have to pay for a return?

You do not have to pay for a refund, however the items in your return remain your responsibility until they are accepted by our warehouse. We do not refund postage costs on refunds nor on the original order placed.

My return hasn’t been received?

Things happen! If you can prove with a receipt for postage paid to return your item back to us, we will provide you with Trade Shades store credit. If you do not get a postage receipt, we will not be able to process any returns request if the return has been lost in transit on its journey back to our warehouse. 

EXCHANGES

What exchange options do you provide?

We currently do not provide exchange direct exchange options. However, you are more than happy to return* your order and then place a new one for the desired product.

*Please note, return postage will be your cost and products are your responsibility until they reach our warehouse. For this reason we recommend using a tracked postage option.

PAYMENTS

What are your payment options?

We use some of the worlds most secure and popular payment methods. We use Shopify's secure payment systems which are trusted by some of the worlds biggest brands. Please see the logo's at the bottom of this page to check which we currently accept.

Can I apply a discount or store credit after I have placed my order?

Once an order has been placed, gift cards or discount codes will not be able to be applied. During multiple stages of the checkout process you will have the chance to input discount codes or gift cards. Look for the ‘Enter Discount Code’ or ‘Gift Card or Discount Code’ text boxes. 

Discount codes are only able to be applied to full priced products.

How do I purchase a Trade Shades gift card?

From the ‘Shop’ tab, select ‘Gift Cards’ and enter the amount required. 

Our gift cards are processed and delivered in the form of an email (not a physical card) and will contain instructions on how to redeem them at checkout. We do not set expiration dates on our gift cards and have no additional processing fees. Shipping fee’s will still apply for any orders used with gift cards as payment.

Please note, gift cards are non-refundable.
